Antique English Maws & Co Tile - Victorian Architectural Element
19th Century English decorative architectural tile by Maws & Co depicting a bust of a Roman Goddess, olive branches, a dove and the Latin word for peace "PAX" inscribed on a banner. The tile -modeled in relief with a soothing color combination of white on a sage-gray ground –is both beautiful and decorative. There is one chip to the base edge as well as other minor flakes present around the edges. There is also some discoloration and crazing in the relief section. Condition is very good. Measures 8" x 8".
