Chinese import decorative copper vessel or dish vintage c1950s with exquisite bright high gloss robin's egg blue enamel interior finish, surrounded with a copper rim, scalloped in three places. The finger holder, exterior sides and bottom show a copper with an exceptionally nice patina. Unsigned, but has China mark on the back. This is an exceptionally classy piece.
Purchased from the estate of a Newport Rhode Island woman who traveled extensively in the Far East - acquiring many Chinese, Japanese and other oriental objects. We have previously sold many China marked items from this estate.
Overall interior measurements are 4 1/2" in diameter x 1 1/4" deep (excluding handle).
PHOTO NOTE: The photographic process sometimes distorts the clarity of the image, and often exaggerates the condition of the surface or areas showing normal wear. The shiny enamel interior finish and the iridescent copper wash on the outside are particularly difficult to photograph accurately. This item is far more attractive viewed in person than it appears in these photos.
CONDITION NOTE: The condition of this item very fine. We have found no cracks, nicks or flaws in the enamel surface. Areas on the underside where the wash appears possibly worn may have been designed into the piece and only contributes to the overall patina. A few small surface spots in the interior appear to be water marks, and may be removable.
