Vintage Victorian color embossed lithograph Raphael Tuck die-cut Valentine featuring 3-D Cupid pop-up with a floral lithograph paper lace background. "To Greet My Valentine" is printed in gold on the fold-out base. Also printed on the base is "Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd., London, Paris, Berlin and New York", and the Raphael Tuck logo. Published sometime after 1882 when "& Sons" was added to the company name.
Valentine measures 4-1/2" high x 2-3/4" wide. No signature or marks, and no envelope.
PHOTO NOTE: The photos distort the clarity of the images and sometimes the intensity of the colors. The muted "grainy" look is a distortion. The colors are more vivid and the clarity greater when viewed in person. Minute defects are exaggerated by the photos, and many are barely noticeable when viewed in person.
CONDITION: Very old and the paper lace is fragile, but in good condition for its age. The base and background paper lace has some damage at the bottom. The lace arch has a piece missing at the top. The angel has a reinforced crease across the exposed knee and some damage to the leg below it. Light stain spots on the lace, and some soiling to the greeting. Small spots of glue residue on the back.
