Vintage c1900 RANCOCAS CREEK, NEW JERSEY Art Postcard – Artist Signed Landscape - Unused
Standard-sized unused postcard with undivided back, which dates it defintely prior to March 1907. Printed on the back is the publisher's logo with the intials "SPCCo" - probably the intials of the New York Company Souvenir Post Card Co. (1905-1914)- and "Landscape Series No. 59". The reference to "United States and Island Possessions" and "Cuba" printed in the stamp box, suggests this postcard was probably published shortly after the Spanish American War.
PHOTO NOTE: The photos distort the clarity of the images and sometimes the intensity of the colors. The muted "grainy" look is a distortion. The colors are more vivid and the clarity greater when viewed in person. Minute defects are exaggerated by the photos, and many are barely noticeable when viewed in person.
CONDITION: Standard-sized very old postcard is fragile, but in excellent condition for its age. All flaws are visible in the photos. Corners are rounded. Only damaged areas are wear on the edges and corners, and several diagonal creases across the lower right quadrant of the image (which have been reinforced on the back). Most blend into the image and are most obvious only in reflected light. Only the one damage nearest the corner is clearly visible from the front. (Most of the white lines in the center and lower section of the image are birch saplings, roots, weeds and ripples in the creek). Back is lightly soiled, but otherwise clean.
