c1938 Mickey Mouse Disney cartoon character - small vintage cardboard cut-out stand-up, copyright "W. D. Ent." - abbreviation for Walt Disney Enterprises seen on early Disney items.
Shows an early version of Mickey –with fire hat on his head, racing his fire truck with siren sounding and ringing bell. Captioned on the bottom tab "A Fourth Alarm Fire".
This piece has a single tab with the caption at the bottom center with dotted-line fold point on the right side – which is folded in to provide support for the base. Cut-out measures 5-1/2" wide x 3-1/4" high.
From the back-side, it looks like this might be a cereal box cut-out premium, but it could also be from a paper-doll book or game. Whatever it is, the copyright mark and the drawing style of this image of Mickey date it to the late 1930s, if not earlier.
