Classic Target Shooting Hand-Gun Manual - Pistol and Revolver Shooting, Authored by Walter F. Roper - Original 1945 Edition, 1961 Printing Volume - NOT A FACSIMILE
Walter Roper was one of the leading American handgun experts of the mid-twentieth century. He was particularly active as a writer during the 1940s and early 1950s. During that period, for example, he wrote some two dozen feature articles for the National Rifle Association's house publication, American Rifleman, along with contributing a sixteen-part series, entitled "This Handgun Game", to the magazine during 1940 and 1941. Roper wrote three books: "Pistol and Revolver Shooting", "Experiments of a Handgunner" and, with Roy C. McHenry, "Smith and Wesson Hand Guns".
Copyright 1945 by The MacMillan Company, this is an authentic vintage volume is from the 1961 7th printing - and not a facsimile. Measures 8-1/4" x 5-1/2" x 3/4".
PHOTO NOTE: The washed out texture to some of the images is a photo distortion, altering the sharper textures of the images in the actual book. Photos also tend to exaggerate the prominence of lightly soiled spots and sun faded areas, as well as the size and texture of small creases and flaws, all of which are much less noticeable in person.
CONDITION: Book is in wonderful, like-new condition inside. No folds, tears or under-lining. No dust cover. Very slight shelf-wear on the cover faces, spine edges and corners. Private library label "from the book shelves of NEIL HARRINGTON" and an old price notation inside the front cover.
