USDA Circular No. 143 Some Common Mushrooms and How to Know Them

This US Department of Agriculture Bulletin was originally printed in 1931 and "slightly revised" in 1953. The paper folio has 59 pages complete with index of species, and glossary in the back. There are articles on various kinds of wild mushrooms and a very important section on the dangers of poisonous fungi. The front cover has some chipping due to age and use. The spine is tight and all of the pages are present. There are black and white photographic plates of various mushroom specimens. The circular is authored by Vera K. Charles, formerly associate pathologist, Division of Mycology and Disease Survey, Bureau of Plant Industry, Soils and Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Research Administration. This was originally available from the Government Printing Office for the price of 25 cents.
