Remember when facilities weren't air conditioned? Remember the fans that were given out to everyone at church, funerals, picnics and other social events? This is a fan from that era. The fan folds out to show a lovely scene of a church surrounded by fall woods and reflected in the smooth clear lake waters. Pull tabs allow the fan to be expanded to its full extent. The fan was given out by Illinois Farm Supply Company and bears Patent number 2,449,701 which dates the patent to 1948. The face of the fan is imprinted with Chapel in the Glen 8678 Litho in U.S.A. copyright A. Scheer. Closed, the fan measures 7 x 5 inches. Open, the fan measures 10 3/4 x 7 inches. Very minor creasing and dents speak to the fact that ladies have kept their cool with this fan!
