This very small leather shoe is hand sewn with a wooden sole and hand forged nails. This could easily date to the late 1700's - early 1800's. You can see the hand planed marks on the wooden heel. This may be a shoe for a very young boy. The shoe is about 5 1/2 inches long. The upper leather is very worn and is buttery soft over the toe. The shoe is in "as is" condition with some trim that is loose over the back of the shoe. There are no buttons though there are holes for buttons. There is no mark to suggest that the buttons were ever there, however. This is a very old shoe with condition problems, but it is charming in its age and primitive style. You are not likely to find something like this wonderful little shoe in the near future.
