This is a 4 1/2 inch silverplate souvenir spoon from the 1901 Pan American Exposition held in Buffalo. The spoon has a bust of President McKinley at the top. Down the stem of the spoon is a depiction of Niagara Falls. The reverse side of the stem has 1901 and a street scene of some of the buildings of the Exposition. . The back of the spoon is marked Oneida Community. The bowl of the spoon has an image of the Palace of Music. There is some slight pitting and mild discoloration on the bowl, but this is still a very nice spoon. A nice memento of an event that celebrated the Americas, new international trade and the new age of technologic advancements. I also have another 1901 Pan American Exposition souvenir spoons with different subjects.
