Two Postcards Washington's Birthday Mt Vernon Cherry Tree

Here are two postcards commemorating George Washington's birthday. Each is from series 540 and each has the caption "'Washington' First in Peace, First in War and First in the Hearts of His Countrymen." Each depicts a bust of Washington as well as cherries still on the branches. Both are postally unused and without publisher information.

One depicts young Washington talking to his father about chopping down the cherry tree. CONDITION: Light staining. Corner rounding and tip creasing. Light edge bumping.

The other depicts stately Mount Vernon. CONDITION: Light corner rounding and chipping. There is some chipping to the green area of Washington's coat.

Overall very good condition.
