This lovely pitcher was made by Royal Doulton at Burslem, Staffordshire, England. To the left of the handle is a butterscotch colored medallion showing four hounds tearing at a fox. On the other side in gold is the verse "There's a saying – old yet it's never new tis never trouble trouble till trouble troubles you." Scattered on the dark brown background are a number of shamrocks in gold. There are gold lines around the body of the pitcher and gold highlights on the handle. The underglaze mark is in gold and shows a lion on a crown over a circle with the words Royal Doulton England around a quatrefoil.
DIMENSIONS: The pitchers stands about 7 1/4 inches (18.2 cm) tall. It measures about 6 1/2 inches (13 cm) from spout to handle. The base has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches (11.3 cm).
CONDITION: There are no nicks, chips or cracks, but the medallion has some crazing.
