This is quite a different piece. The top portion of the brooch has that amazing European locking pin feature. You pull the pin out to release the pin, slide it down to the bottom and release it. Then to put it back on you do the reverse and push the end of the pin in. It is remarkable safe and this will never be lost.
The brooch has a beautiful cut out floral design in yellow colored Rolled Gold. It has a silver backing with open work to allow for the stones to produce maximum sparkle. It has beautiful hand cut French paste which are foil backed all around the edges. From the bottom hangs a very Victorian scrolled design solid piece with 6 mesh dangles. The pin back is signed Made in France. I am very sure that the long dangle was added long ago. It was a super marriage however. I suppose it could be removed however it really does look impressive on the brooch. The entire length of the piece is 4 1/4" long x 1 3/8" across. The piece is in Excellent antique condition. There are no missing, dark or replaced paste stones. They are all mine cut and polished pastes. Circa 1900. If you happen to collect Victorian Mesh Bracelets, this would be a fabulous match. Oh so impressive and lovely. Questions are always welcome.
