Mid-Century Japanese Kimono Set
The nice thing about the kimono is that it is very wearable, and is in perfect condition. The fabric is a deep navy blue and it has a lovely dragonfly pattern in white. Although there are no labels, the fabric is undoubtedly a light weight cotton. There appears to be a good deal of hand stitching on this item, and we suspect it was hand-crafted. The Obi is a heavier fabric, type unknown, but it is lightly ribbed. The colors are bright red on one side and golden yellow on the other. It is still on a cardboard roll and has a protective wrap around it. It appears to us this item has never been used or worn in any way. We are including the fan that was paired with it - it is a simple paper paddle fan with a wooden handle, and a lovely navy blue scenic block print on one side.
The condition of the kimono robe and the obi are excellent. The fan does have one small tear on one side - we tried to capture it but it isn't very visible.
There are no size labels; measurements other than length (about 63") are not very meaningful with this item because of its cut. However, it will easily fit up to about a ladies' size 12 with plenty of cross over in the front.
