There are lots of round rhinestone pins out there, but Grandma thinks that the special details of this one make it exceptional. The shape dimension of the pin is interesting - the outer row of pear shaped stones tilt inward and the center section is raised a bit, making a kind of dip where the two sections meet. In addition to the pear shaped stones, the designer used baguette rhinestones which always add elegance. This all sets around a single round stone in the center of the pin. The stones are prong set in a rhodium plate setting. This pin dates to about 1945 or 1950. It is a bit over 2" across and is in very good condition with no blackening or dead rhinestones, but the stones definitely read as older stones.
