This is such a pretty pin, but a bit difficult to get a really clear picture of how it is made because there is a lot going on between the rhinestones and crystals. The base layer consist of light and dark topaz colored round rhinestones, all prong set. The rhinestones are fairly large stones, but a bit hidden in the pictures. Overlaying the rhinestone base are lots of topaz colored crystal beads. The setting is plated gold tone, and the pin measures just a hair under 2" in diameter.
This piece is unmarked, however we strongly suspect it was made by Delizza and Elster as it displays some classic D&E design and manufacture elements. D&E is known to have made pins in the general design of crystals over rhinestones. Other common elements of construction that are know to have been used by D&E is the way in which the crystals are mounted (the square type of link used) and in groups of 3. The back of the setting has the 'rosettes' often found on the back of D&E pieces, which look like lined, open circles. The clasp is the type generally found on D&E pieces (not the bar or v-shaped...attached then plated).
This piece is in very good condition.
