Mexican Opal Watch Band

This item is the decorative portion of a vintage men's watchband. The metal is silver in color, but there are no marks to indicate the silver content. There is some dark tarnish that rubs off, suggesting some silver content. The hand made design has a single raised leaf and a roadrunner on each side of the band. Each side also sports a pair of cabochons which Grandma believes are mexican opals or boulder opals. They are predominantly brown in color with lots of interesting swirls that have a bit of an orange shade to them inside.

The overall size of the two pieces is 1 1/4" on the narrow end to 1 3/8" wide at larger end. There is a tube into which a spring pin would be placed on the wider end; the tube is 14mm long. The narrow end has a bar onto which a leather or stretch band would attach; it measures 17 or 18mm long.
