1960 "For the Legs Of A Chicken" and "Paolo and Panetto" Bettina Ehrlich Children Books

I am offering two children books written by Austria artist Bettina Ehrlich. This artist and writer was born March 19, 1903 in Vienna, Austria, began drawing and writing at the age of five. At age 17 she entered an art school in Vienna which she attended for three years. Later she spent two years in Berlin and one in Paris and exhibited in both cities. Bettina made many serious studies for her illustrations and believed that children should be given pictures based on the love and observation of nature. Many of her stories came from her travels through Europe and the United States. Bettina wrote and illustrated more than 20 books for children, of which I am selling two of them: "For the Legs Of A Chicken" and "Paolo and Panetto". Franklin Watts Inc. out of New York produced both copies and they come with there original dust covers.

"PAOLO and PANETTO" is about a spoiled and sheltered little boy who is plagued by bad dreams creeps out at night to the streets of Milan, meets a poor child, and goes to her garden. There the child Pan appears and they go adventuring through the beautiful landscape of Italy.

"FOR THE LEG OF A CHICKEN" is about a boy named Roberto, whose mother was poorer and gave corn pudding with every meal to feed her children. A rich woman sent Roberto to carry a hot dish of roast chicken leg across town to her sick sister. The aroma of that roast chicken leg was more than Roberto could handle, so he decided he would work to be rich so he and his family could eat chicken anytime they wanted. The story is about his adventures.

These large hardcover editions are in very good conditions with no writing or torn pages. The dust covers have a few rips.
