Lovely and Unusual Large Wood Sewing Box

This box is wood and measures 12 1/2" x 10" x 6". The outside of the box has been covered in a material that I cannot identify. It feels like wood veneer, but it is deeply embossed with an organic leaf design. It does not seem to be a synthetic, but it may be. The inside is lined in fabric and braid in colors typical of the 1920-30's. It is a lovely box. The hinges are original and intact. There is wear on a couple of corners. The braid is loose in areas. Otherwise in very good condition.
