Huge Purple Transferware Platter, BEAUTY, Old Hall, ca. 1861-86

This white earthenware platter is white with a purple transfer printed design around the edge. The design is very classical. The platter measures a whopping 17" x 21 1/2". The bottom is marked with the pattern name, BEAUTY. The Staffordshire belt has O.H.E.C. L. _ a mark used by the Old Hall Earthenware Co. Ltd. Staffordshire Pottery 1861-86. There is also an impressed mark. There is lots of wear on the bottom. There is a tiny nick on one end. There is heavy crazing with very light stains in the center.
