Antique Books, THE WORKS, In twenty-one volumes, DICKENS, Charles

This set of books were published in London 1901 by Chapman & Hall. There were originally 21 volumes. This set is missing volume 10. Each book measures 8" x 5 3/4". The have burgundy cloth boards with half morocco. However, much of the leather on the spine has deteriorated and crumbled. Most of the decoration on the spines are missing. The endpapers are marbled with the tops a tarnished gilt. Each volume has a color frontispiece and numerous monochrome illustrations by George Cruikshank, Seymour and Phiz. It is the Authentic edition printed from the edition that was carefully corrected by the author in 1867 and 1868. The insides of the books are in excellent condition. The spines are as described. Part of the cover boards are loose or partially loose.
