Early Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Tin, MOSAIC, circa 1901

This British biscuit tin made for the Huntley & Palmers Biscuit company was issued in 1901. It was one of a series of 3 (Floral, Ivory, and Mosaic). The tin measures 9" x 5" x 3.5". There is a handle and double hinged lids. The series was made by Huntley, Boorne & Stevens. The sides have mosaics of medieval knights in battle. The images are small and appear to simulate mosaic compositions. The colors on the sides continue to be quite bright. The bottom is marked with the Huntley & Palmers logo. The tin does have some condition problems in that there is lots of rust or oxidation. There are minor dents.
