Early 19th Century Pint Pewter Measure, James Yates, Birmingham

The Yates family are well-known British pewterers. This early measure is marked James Yates Pint. James produced Pewter circa 1800-40. The measure has straight sides. There are fillets (rings) around the base and just above the bottom of the solid rounded handle. There are several verification marks around the rim. It is a bit out of round. This would be considered a spouted measure. It measures 4 1/2" tall. The top is 3 1/4" in diameter while the base is 3 7/8" in diameter. The condition shows many years of use. There is a split beside the handle. There is pitting and wear to the rim.
