1840 Detailed Engraving by William Lizars, THE INIA River Amazon

This print measures 4" x 6 1/2". It is a very detailed engraving with original hand-coloring by William Home Lizars, a Scottish painter and engraver (1788-1859). It is taken from volume XXVI of Sir William Jardines' NATURALIST'S LIBRARY published in Edinburgh and London, c. 1840. The top is marked plate 22. The top corner is marked FIG. 29. The bottom is marked THE INIA River Amazon. J. Stewart del. Lizars SC. The detailed background of plants and birds is beautifully done. Good condition.
