Lovely Papier Mache Handkerchief Box, Roses

In days of old, no respectable lady would be without her lace handkerchief. Today we grab a couple of tissues. There are wonderful old handkerchiefs around and those who collect them. This box was made for storing those great hankies. It is papier mache with a black lacquer finish. The inside is black The lid is tole painted with lovely pale pink roses. The box measures 7 1/2" on a side and 1 1/2" deep. It shows minimal wear. There is a spot of what appears to be black paint at the base of the rose stems.
