1869 Joseph Smit Hand-Finished Chromolithograph from PZS, Birds

This chromolithograph was accomplished by Joseph Smit (1836-1929) and cut from the "PROCEEDINGS OF THE ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY" (PZS). This plate measures 9" x 6.5" It is marked on the bottom identifying the lithographer as J. Smit and the printer as M & N Hanhart. The PZS 1869 Pl XLIX identity is in the upper right hand corner. The Latin names of the two birds are 1. SYNALLAXIS CURTATA (Ash-browed Spinetail) and 2. LEPTASTHENURA ANDICOLA (Andean Tit-spinetail). This is a lovely print and suitable for framing.
