Huge Polychrome Enameled Ironstone Platter, Early 19th C., England

This huge platter measures 16" x 20" and weighs 7 lb. The background is white ironstone. The border is transfer printed in black with colorful enamels enhancing the oriental patter. The outside edge is black bordering a mustard yellow band. The decorative band has alternating pairs of gargoyles and floral designs. The inside band is a Greek Key design. The bottom is marked with a pattern number. There is an impressed mark with a name and a crown. Even though hard to read, the name appears to be Brownfield used circa 1860. This platter shows some wear, but is really in excellent condition. No chips or cracks. The platter would be great to use if serving a turkey or ham.
