This early frame measures 11" x 13" with an inside opening of 5 3/8" x 7 1/4". There is glass and a cabinet photograph mounted on black mat board in the frame. The photograph is faded but charming with the boy with his large dog. This is a typical chip-carved tramp art frame made form carving pieces of cigar boxes or other scrap wood and stacking them to make the frame. There is part of a paper label which shows on the back. The frame displays quite well. For the record, there are some issues. on 3 of the 8 corner extended pieces there are small pieces broken off. One layer of wood is missing on one of the eight extended corner pieces. None of these really detract. Nice decorator piece for a country home or primitive decor.
