This letter box has a lovely wood veneer finish. There is dark stringing around the edges of the lid and the corners. The box measures 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 4". The lid has a pewter round insert in the center. The lock escutcheon matches the circle on the lid. There is no key. The inside of the box has been lined in paper. Then satin has been added in the lid and is loose in the box. There is even a letter in the box addressed to someone in Edinburgh, Scotland. The envelope is stamped Southampton Paquebot 29 Dec 1950. The box is in good condition. There is one piece of veneer missing on the left back lower corner.
