This is a RARE piece of Sterling Silver religious jewelry from the Early 1900's. Edwardian Era Ring is Nicely DETAILED with chased Victorian style flourishes on each side and an Oval Panel in the center. Instead of fancy engraved initials on the panel, there is an Almond shape panel of White & Candy Apple Red Guilloche Enamel with the easily recognized Catholic symbol of the Sacred Heart soldered to it.
I have no way of know if this ANTIQUE Catholic jewelry was worn by an important member of the church, student at a seminary or other religious institution ~ school ? The front of this Silver Ring MEASURES ~ 1/2 Inch N-S and is a SIZE 12 1/2 on my Ring Wand (could be sized down a bit by a competent jeweler).
It is CLEARLY Marked "STERLING" and the Makers Mark for "UNCAS"... a 'U' with an Arrow running thru it. Antique Sacred Heart Ring is in GOOD + CONDITION! Shank is a little thin from Over 100 Years of TREASURED use but can still be safely worn. Enameled jewelry has been gently polished yet still retains some Old Patina. NO Loss to the enamel only minute wear/crazing to snow white enamel (visible under 10 Power magnification); would not be noticeable when worn or displayed & is only mentioned for complete accuracy.
Would make a GREAT addition to YOUR Vintage Religious Jewelry Collection!
