Napkin Ring Holder Edwardian Era by Meriden - Silver Plate Fans & Birds
t is not perfect but in good condition. It has a small amount of plating off of the bottom, which is not visible when display. There is a dent in the ring part, although it only shows on one side and is minor, it is there. It sets on four legs, but one is about 1/16th of an inch off the surface. Something must have dropped on it at one time to create the dent, to where it doesn't completely stand on the four legs. Just a tad off, but I want you to know all.
It has lovely Art Nouveau flowers on it and the metal is of good silver color. It is 2 3/4" tall and 2 1/4" wide. This beauties are getting more difficult to find. I thought is was perfect but a customer who collects these noticed the minor imperfections. And I always appreciate someone telling me, what I was unable to see, because it wasn't completely obvious. Still a good one for the collector and below my cost!!
It is so difficult to find the sterling silver napkin ring figurals from this same Era of the late 1800's and if you do find them they are so expensive in comparison to what they were a few years ago...I was told since Martha Stewart did a show on them!! But nice to find the silver plated ones still around. At least one can afford these...for now!
