Gorgeous C.1850 English chinoiserie sewing table,chest or cabinet with gilt figures hand painted on legs,knees as well as upper cabinet with gilt figures hand painted on legs,knees as well as upper cabinet all sides. Brass key hole no key. Claw feet with chinoiserie on feet,base-plate all in wonderful condition,very minute fading of gilt to right leg,no lose of black anywhere. The sewing compartments are totally intact with all original parts,removable rose covered pin cushion,many separate compartments,two side compartments with lids and pulls. Solid black pull out tray for work surface beneath the top storage area. Top is angled at all four corners with chinoiserie and flat center surface. The entire cabinet in wonderful condition. Many years prior,top of leg joints which connect to the upper chest were professionally re-glued probably due to wood shrinkage at the joint with age. Very stable and secure,just a mention. Measures 24.5L X 27H X16D.
