William and Mary Wing Chair - Butterfly Collection Stuart Library Collection Doll House

The wingback or easy chair was introduced toward the end of the seventeenth century and appears here in the classic form that was frequently modified in later versions. The high back is gently canted for greater comfort and is shaped into a flattened arch at the top. The deep winged panels at either side of the back were designed to help ward off drafts and give this chair its most familiar name.

The Butterfly Collection of miniatures is in 1/12th scale. This is part of the Stuart Library Collection and was made by the Goebel Miniature Company. The collection was designed by Robert Olszewski and is dated from 1979. It is No. 105-W0 in the collection.

This chair is in unused, mint condition and is in its original box with the accompanying pamphlet. It measures 4 3/8" tall and 2 1/4" wide.
