Famous Trees of Texas stated 1st Edition December 1970. Published by Texas Forest Service A Part of The Texas A&M University System.

Inside cover has large map of Texas locating all the trees. Preface states, "The purpose of this book is to memorialize those [historic] trees which have been witness to some of the exciting periods and events in Texas' frontier history. Some were present when the Texans shook of the yoke of Mexican domination, and since then have been silent witnesses to the development of a dynamic state."

Every other page is a full color photograph of a tree with a description on the opposite page. A fun look at Texas history and trees which today may not be standing.

Vintage book has photographic board covers. It is in very good vintage condition. Some light soiling on the front cover. Pages clean and binding tight.
