"Rhymes of a Red Cross Man" was written by Robert W. Service and published by Barse and Hopkins. Service served as a Red Cross volunteer during the First World War as did his brother who was killed in action. The book is dedicated to his brother, Lieutenant Albert Service "Killed in Action, France August, 1916". This collection of rhymes reflect Service's observations and service during that conflict.
The book has green cloth covers with gilt title. It is in good vintage condition with some yellowing to the paper and brown staining at the bottom corner of about 20 pages in the middle. The edges are bumped and there is some wear at the top of the spine.
