Cecil Aldin Vintage Watercolor Dog Painting ORIGINAL Art - Charles Windsor Spaniel

Cecil Aldin original vintage watercolor painting "A Successful Foray".

This Charles Windsor Spaniel is so cute presenting his little trophy. Want to own an amazing piece of vintage art? No better place to start than here--especially if you're a dog lover.

Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a British painter known for his hunting, animal and especially dog illustrations. He published illustrations in magazines including The Illustrated London News and illustrated books like, "A Dog Day". Aldin also did a group of illustrations for a line of Royal Doulton china. Aldin was particularly fond of dogs and organized dog shows in his later years.

This original watercolor illustration is entitled, "A Successful Foray" and depicts a Charles Windsor Spaniel dog with his hunting treasure held firmly in his mouth. The painting is on a textured heavy board measuring 10" x 11 7/8". There is chipping to the top surface of the board on the background and title. The edges also show signs of chipping and bumping. This illustration is very similar in color and style to work he did on the Titanium Dinnerware Series he did for Royal Doulton and may have been part of that series.

The colors are bright and the signature bold on this original artwork from a beloved artist.
