Tin Litho Doll Clothes Toy Washing Machine, Modern Toys Japan

Graphics are adorable, in full color with slight wear. Three images of pretty young girls doing their doll's laundry with smiling faces, wearing white aprons and very detailed. Colors are still vivid and bright!

Washing machine tub is made of white metal trimmed in turquoise blue on its rim and measures 5 inches tall and 3-1/2 inches diameter. It has surface wear but is in great condition for its age, except that its lid is missing. Rim of tub has one small area where lid was once attached. It has a bright red plastic (Could be Cherry Red Bakelite?)agitator in the center of the metal tub that still moves. Tub sits on three turquoise blue metal legs and has a thumbturn winding key on one side, as well as a lever style on and off switch. Unfortunately it no longer works.

Maker's mark is a diamond logo with "MT" in it and reads, "Trade Mark Modern Toys Japan Patent No. 35960". This is the Modern (Masudaya) Toy Company of Japan who made many wonderful tin lithograph toys.
