This vintage stoneware butter crock is a beautiful shade of medium gray-blue and was most likely made in the late 1800s to early 1900s when kitchenware pieces like this were a household staple. Salt glazing creates a slightly rough finish, which is seen on the exterior of this handsome piece; interior is also glazed and is more smooth; rim and bottom side are unglazed.
In excellent condition with one very fine, hairline crack on bottom that is visible on the interior but not on the blue exterior; interior has one tiny glaze pop. Otherwise no chips, crazing, or damage.
Measures 7-3/8 inches diameter and is 4-1/4 inches tall. Has no markings as to manufacturer.
A beautiful piece for your vintage salt glazed stoneware collection!
