Wooden Shoes Girls with Leather Ankle Straps

Vintage Wooden Shoes Girls with Leather Ankle Straps. These darling wooden shoes are styled for a young child with black leather ankle straps that have a metal eyelet on each end to allow for a ribbon or shoe string to be attached and tied in a bow to hold the shoes on his/her foot. Each shoe has a carved design on its slightly upturned toe and a 1/2" heel. and has a hole on the inside edge, I would assume for hanging. This pair is very clean and in near mint condition showing little, if any, signs of wear; leather straps are are somewhat dry but don't appear to be brittle. Inside of each shoe is very clean and look hand carved. Each shoe measures 6-5/8" long x 2-1/2" wide x 1-7/8" deep. Leather straps are 3-3/8" long and are attached with 2 tiny nails on each side of the back. I am unsure of their origin - could be Dutch, French, or from another country. I bought them at an estate sale and have enjoyed them as part of my vintage clothing collection for many years.

These are really charming - Check all my photos...I think you will agree!
