Marked Franciscan, this Salad or Luncheon Plate is designed with a gorgeous swirling floral pattern of greenish brown flowers. The earthy colors of this earthenware pattern are so typical of the 60's and 70's era in which Madeira was "born." The chocolate brown background has a coordinating olive green band. Production of the pattern began in 1967 and was discontinued 1983. Made in California, Madeira was USA manufactured.
The matching Salt & Pepper Shakers have the same chocolate brown background and are accented with the deep olive green ring near the top.
The shakers and the plate remain nice and shiny--no chips, cracks,or crazing. The matte finish has a low gloss sheen that keeps these dishes looking like new seemingly forever.
The shakers are lightly used and the stoppers are missing. The 8 1/2" plate is in Excellent Condition.
