This postcard was made from a real photo and the photograph itself carries the photographers name on the right front border; Scott & Van Altena. The photography company Scott & Van Altena was known for their transparency slides for Magic Lantern Projectors of that day. This uncirculated postcard was addressed but apparently the message never written and the card never mailed.
In excellent condition, the card has no bends or creases. There is very light age tanning on the address side and lightly bumped corners. The card is part of an Illustrated Song Series No. 1816 and was published by Theodor Eismann, New York, and printed in Germany. The song lyric offered as a caption to the photo: "Sunshine, my Sunshine, won't you beam on me"
The Theodor Eismann publishing and printing company was known for their chromolitho printing process which they often identified as "Theocrome."
Other cards in this series are available though may not be listed as of yet.
