This is an antique used Bailed Griddle marked 14 GRISWOLD ERIE 742. It measures over 14" across. It has a ¾ of an inch high side. The wire bail is attached to extended side pieces. It is used with some wear, lot of rust, some pitting and scratches. It is in good possibly usable condition. It was cleaned and seasoned but needs more. It sits flat on a table. It would be good for eggs, pancakes etc. The Book of GRISWOLD & WAGNER 2nd Edition from 2000, page 50 shows some similar but not this one with an inset ring. Page 317 under Griswold Pattern Numbers is called a No.14 Bail Griddle with 3 inset rings marked at the top of the page. It would look good over an old fireplace or campfire on a hanging hook or rotating arm. It has a large 3 ¾ inch across slant logo. The inside reinforcement ring is 8 inches across.
