This vintage East Germany Bayonet has a black plastic Grip and a Scabbard or Sheath that has a black rubber insulator. The metal bottom of the scabbard protrusion piece with the knife hole can be used as a wire cutter. I found "Knife bayonet for use with the 7.62 mm. Kalashnikov AKM assault rifle. East Germany produced the Type I bayonet from 1965–1978." It has a gray web wrist hanger that is adjustable. The gray leather belt loop hanger was dry and cracked so I rubbed leather cleaner, conditioner into it. It has a 5 ¼ inch long knife blade that looks un-sharpened. The cracked rubber piece is marked 5998. The plastic appears to be marked EC4492. It is used with some stains, scratches, small scabbard rust spots and wear.
