This is a selection of 2 antique medals from the International, non-sectarian fraternal order that was established in 1864 in Washington, DC, by Justus T. Rathbone. This Civil War Era group was the first fraternal order to be chartered by a Act of Congress and is dedicated to the cause of Universal Peace. One Medal is Triangular shaped with an unmarked attached nameplate with a missing back pin on the top. The sides of the triangles are 2 ¼ " long. It has crossed Skeleton Keys. The other one that is diamond shaped has a brass center with an outline of a Knight's helmet with Eagle and crossed axes over a shield. Below that are crossed swords and Cross topped Staff. It is made of silver plate that is mostly worn off. The backs are marked "SUPREME LODGE" with F C B around a Shield with a heart in the center. These came with one (not included) that was Copyright 1874 so would be from that time period. They show some wear, scratches, one missing pin and tarnish but are in the good used condition obtained. Some of the pictures were scanned.
