This is a old 8 Key Xylophone with 2 different percussion sticks and original instructions. The different sized keys are marked C,D,E,F,G,A,B and C. The wood base measures approx. 11 ¾ inches by 5 inches. It plays the basic music scales. The torn and fragile instructions are marked Instructor for Schoenhut's Metallophones. I found Albert Schoenhut, a German immigrant, began producing piano toys in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1872. There are 14 songs in it. There is a name written on the back. A extra paper with 3 songs also came with it. It is well used with much wear and has a nail protruding on the bottom. It is in good condition for collecting, use or display.
