This is a wonderful book for young adults in the Random House Landmark Series. It is book 99 in the Series. This book by Richard Tregaskis, provides a vivid description of a nightmarish shipwreck and an incredible rescue, as well as a detailed account of PT-boat operations in the Solomon Islands phase of World War II. The jacket of the book describes it in this way: "Essentially the book is a profile of John F. Kennedy's courage--a courage that enabled him to endure acute pain, fatigue, and hunger to save his men; a courage befitting a future President of the United States." What more can I say!
This book is in outstanding condition with only a little damage to the dust jacket. There are a few little tears at the top back of the dust jacket--see pictures. The pages are clean and unmarked with no damage.
