Back in the 1960's AMERICAN BAZAAR was only sold in the better department and specialty stores. Saks Fifth Avenue carried this brand. This is an exceptional 2 piece pants suit. The stylized trench coat style was popular then due to the BEETLES influence on fashion. The long trench style jacket is coat weight since it is a heavier wool and it is lined with quilted rayon satin. The pants are straight with a bell bottom. The wool is a stylized herringbone pattern with subtle stripe. The pants do not have a waistline and the wool is bonded to a fabric lining to make them comfortable on the leg.
The MOD pants suit is in excellent condition. There are no visible holes, spots, or tears. The beige quilted lining shows some fading in some areas,...which is not noticeable since it is inside the jacket.
