Vintage Skookum Type Indian Papoose Mailer

This sweet vintage papoose mailer looks just like a Skookum doll and is just 5 1/2" long and 2" wide at the widest point. She is on a yellow cardboard blanket board all wrapped up in a red, black and beige flannel blanket with only her head peaking out. She has a black mohair wig with a leather band around her head and a red feather sticking out the back. Her face has painted features with one stroke eyebrows, side glancing eyes and a red mouth. Her molding on her composition face is actually very well done. At the bottom of her blanket is a beaded pin. The all beaded pin is of a face with a white and black beaded feather headband. Attached at the neckline of the pin are orange and blue beads that hold green felt moccasins trimmed in tiny yellow beading and decorated with ruby red flowers on top. The little papoose is so sweet but add the beaded pin and you have a wonderful item for your Indian collection.

Condition: Very good. The mailing tag is missing but the string is still present. Flannel blanket is discolored from age. Please see pictures for full condition.
