Wedgwood Majolica Pitcher

This large early Mottled Pattern Majolica Pitcher is bordered and banded in a vivid green rope-like or chain design with a turquoise interior. It stands 9 1/2 inches tall and the bottom diameter is 5 3/4 inches. The Majolica is the mottled brown color and is in excellent condition , but the pewter lid is no longer attached. There is a repair on the underside of the lid that looks like it was reattached at one time. The lid has a white porcelain or enamel piece on the lever. I don't know if the pewter lid could be reattached or not , it is lovely without it. The large size, the impressed WEDGWOOD signature and the condition of the pottery make this a fine piece. Dates prior to 1891
