This Early Victorian Beautifully Carved Ivory Parasol Handle is really outstanding. The shaft is carved with stylized leaves standing up straight on the lower half, and the twining around further up. The gracefully curved top, which can be unscrewed, features an acorn and oak leaves. This is a very slender and elegant handle and the Ivory has aged to a lovely soft cream color over the years. It would have been made in the early 1800s and is in excellent condition with no damage of any sort, it is 6 3/4" long by 1/2"wide at the base and 1 1/2" across the carved oak and acorn top. A rare find for any collector of Victoriana or jewelry and fantastic in a shadow box with a Victorian wedding handkerchief.
